Other Knives

|---|---|---|
| Material | Premium forged steel engineered for lasting strength and corrosion resistance. | Often stamped or made from standard steel blends that may sacrifice durability or rust resistance. |
| Sharpness | 20% sharper than standard knives, thanks to laser-guided PEtec technology. | Factory-sharpened blades that start strong but dull faster and lack precision honing. |
| Craftsmanship | Hand-finished in Solingen, Germany with 200+ years of expertise and precision in every detail. | Mass-produced or partially outsourced craftsmanship that lacks the same heritage and consistency. |
| Corrosion Resistance | Exceptional rust resistance for a blade that stays beautiful for decades. | Prone to staining or rust if not carefully maintained—especially with frequent kitchen use. |
| Edge Retention | Stays sharper twice as long as ordinary knives, reducing the need to re-sharpen. | Edges wear faster over time, requiring more frequent sharpening and touch-ups. |
| Limited Lifetime Warranty | Limited lifetime warranty – a promise backed by generations of quality. | Lifetime coverage may exist, but with less transparency and variable service depending on the brand. |

Great
"I looked up different knives and found these. I like how they are the only ones that can say from Solinger. I think that’s neat. And so far, they have been very sharp. My wife already cut her finger on a knife. Now I’m saving to get other knives. Bread knife and a couple others. Love them so far."
"Looks cheap. When they say "16 piece" theyre including tbe wood block, plus its two empty slots. The pieces dont fit in any of the slots, so they wobble arround with the slightest touch. The knives cut, but thats about it."
It was a gift for our Son.
"They love them."
Top Notch!
"These are so worth the money! I have no regrets choosing these over other brands."
wedding gift Knives and knife block
"it was sent s a wedding gift to a nephew getting married in november. It was an their registry. wish I had gotten a gift like this 4( years ago when I got married. I hope this gift helps them become good cooks"
Just ok for the price
"Rivet already fell out of steak knife after 1 use. Very sharp, block is nice. Selection of knives isn’t great. None are large enough to cut up meat. A bit disappointing for the price. even on sale."
Christmas Present
"Parents absolutely love these knifes and make for a great gift. Glad they can use them for many meals to come."
Excellent
"Beautiful and sharp. I like this set as it has more utility-type knives. I love them."
Find a different knife set
"Got this for our wedding. I didn't do enough research apparently. A 6" "chef's knife" is comical. The small knives don't make sense. These knives don't actually fit the block correctly. There's empty holes for a full size chefs knife and full size bread knife. There aren't holes for the small knife. These knives are nice but feel fairly flimsy. Just not functional knives for someone who cooks often."
Terrifyingly Good!
"These knives are the sharpest I have ever owned. I’m enjoying them."
Q&A
- Where is the 16 piece $450.00 dollar knife block set made? What is the difference between this set and the 16 piece $999.00 dollar set?
- Hi Dan! All of the knives from each series are made in Germany. The price difference is most likely due to the type of knife, i.e. forged vs non-forged, but we would need more detail to explain further.
